    Good

The room was nicely furnished, very clean and although a bit warm due to the heat outside; we didn't feel uncomfortable. Its a good location to get to the centre relatively easily. I would stay there again due to its location and the nice room but the luggage incident below has put me off. I also thought that the sound proofing was good. Much better than some hotels that I have visited.

It was too early to check in so they told us that we could leave our luggage in the hotel next door. The place had a code to the outside entrance and then there was just a cupboard inside the building near the entrance. This would have worked fine. However on returning we found the entrance door to this building wide open and no one around. Anyone could have walked in and just taken our luggage! I also felt that it was a bit expensive for 170 euros a night (but thats Paris) . We were told to pay up front on arrival and they didn't appear to have a credit card facility.(but I could have been wrong about this last thing) . The area at night is okay but you need to walk about 10 minutes to an area you are happy to walk around in the evening. Our TV had about 3 channels working and my bed side light switch was behind the bed which was heavy and I couldn't switch it on. The toilet flush kept running all night with water dripping into the bowl which we could hear.

location is not too bad for sightseeing in paris

room is far too small, no airconditioning, breakfast is not enough variety, and can be very noisy at times.... + bed is very small (double bed not queen bed for 2 person)

Staff were very friendly, and had a gook knowledge of local area

cleanliness could be improved on, i.e bed sheets, and bad smells from bath/sink

    Very good

Very friendly & helpful receptionist. Warm and comfortable room - not spacious but with good design

Price of very ordinary Breakfast with cold coffee @ 15 euros/head. We went out for breakfast after this at much less cost for better quality.

We enjoyed the good communication from staff before booking the Hotel. The beds were clean and comfortable. Most of the equipment (shower/bath/kettle) all worked. The room was clean and the beds made after the first day. We are both retired. It was useful that all staff spoke excellent English. One receptionist was very polite and took the time to replace a cup taken from our room and gave us extra coffee.

The receptionist disputed the time of our arrival at the Hotel. She told us we were early when in fact we were 20 minutes after our booked time. There seems to be a problem with the room cleaning rota here. This was probably the real reason we were told to wait for a room. We saw the cleaner had just finished our room, 302 when we got upstairs. It would have been much nicer and more truthful to have disclosed that fact when we arrived. The bath plug release screw was rusted and had a hole. Tiles were missing around the bath. The toilet seat screws were rusted. The balcony centre rail was broken. The Window sill trim was snapped off. The end of the Rue Taylor (archway) is used as a toilet and smelled of urine each morning.

its a quaint unassuming little hotel with its own little personality

upgrade to bathrooms would be nice.

    Good

The location was superb, with easy access to bus, metro and many plsces of interest were within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The advertising misrepresented the rooms. One had to book a superior room to find the quality that was represented in their literature. The en-suite was minute. Breakfast was meagre.

    Superb

The welcome from the staff, and their smiles and ready attention to requests for help. The décor; the hotel's proximity to Métro lines 8 and 9 and to the Gare du Nord. The Chaméléon café round the corner! The peace and quiet.

Staff were pleasant and bed was comfortable. The hotel has the potential to be a lot better. if it could address its niggling problems.

Shower support did not work. No written guidance in particular on the television operation. Toilet broke down, lift broke down, used tea bags not replaced, blown light bulb not changed from previous tenancy. General lack of attention to detail and upkeep. A nightmare of noise from the deposit of a thousand pieces of scaffolding on the road outside my window at 6.30 in the morning over two mornings!

Functional and comfortable rooms. Quiet location. Friendly staff. Good bathrooms which is rare in Paris. Good location for getting to and from the Gare du Nord, and for accessing Paris.

    Superb

Very comfortable beds, tea/coffee making facilities appreciated.

Safe didn't work;reported that a light on the stairs was out, making the steps dangerously dark. No action was taken to remedy these defects

    Exceptional

The Hotel Taylor was brilliant - we loved it. It was excellently placed for transport, restaurants and cafes and only a brief stroll to some lovely shops. It was clean, comfortable and the staff were very helpful. I liked it so much I want to go back.

The only thing I could think of that is a slight negative was the fact it had no air conditioning and was quite warm in the room - even in June. But there was a fan provided and the hotel is on such a quiet street that you could easily sleep with the windows open so it didn't affect us really.

    Good

Newly decorated room, quite spacious. The guy at the reception organised an extra early breakfast for me & my husband as we were leaving the hotel at 6am - he even got us fresh baguettes!

Not enough tables in the breakfast room so sometimes have to wait (but they do provide free room service for breakfast). The bathroom was clean but not renovated to a sufficient standard so that the shower leaked and the basin smelled if the bathroom door was opened. No air con (but a fan provided, which was quite sufficient). The area around the hotel is not so hot either, felt slightly unsafe after dark.
